New Delhi: Hamaari Sada Trust celebrated the 80th Independence Day with children at Rising Skill Development Centre, Madanpur Khadar Extension, in an atmosphere filled with joy and patriotism. On the occasion, students presented patriotic songs, poems, speeches and a play. Their impressive performances won appreciation from everyone present.
Hamaari Sada Trust Founder Mohd. Irshad Alam, Trustees Saeed Ahmad and Safiya Yasmeen were present at the programme.
The programme began with flag hoisting followed by the National Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana”. Students then presented a variety of performances. They remembered the great freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence and shared the message of learning from their lives and sacrifices.
Class 8 student Alina anchored the programme. The event began with Sana and Hiba presenting the patriotic song “Pyaar Ka Nagma Jhoom Ke Gao, Aaj Hai Youm-e-Azadi”. Several other students then presented patriotic songs such as “Azadi Ka Din Aaya Hai, Khushiyon Ka Sandesh Laya Hai”. Students also recited poems including “Hum Desh Ke Bachche Hain, Desh Ke Sachche Rakshak Hain” and “Mera Desh, Meri Shaan”.
Class 11 student Nazia, in her speech, spoke about India’s journey towards independence from 1857 to 1947. She explained how people across the country fought for freedom for many years and how many people sacrificed their lives for the nation.
On the occasion, Ilyas Fahmi, a journalism student at Jamia Millia Islamia, delivered a speech on the topic “Hamara Watan Hindustan”. He encouraged the children to understand their role in making the country and society better.
This was followed by a speech by Class 12 student Maaz on “Our Responsibility Towards Society”. He spoke about the responsibilities of young people towards society and the importance of becoming responsible and good citizens.
During the programme, students remembered several great freedom fighters and national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Dr. Zakir Husain, Bhagat Singh, Maulana Hasrat Mohani and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.
At the conclusion of the programme, Hamaari Sada Trust Founder Mohd. Irshad Alam extended Independence Day greetings to all the children. He remembered the struggle for India’s freedom and the sacrifices made by people for the country.
He said that freedom also comes with certain responsibilities. We must strengthen the unity, brotherhood and peace of the country. He urged the children to focus on education and said, “There is no success without education.” He added that education is the strongest foundation for a better future for children and the progress of the country.
In his address, he also recalled the famous line, “Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna Ab Hamare Dil Mein Hai,” and appealed to the children to play their part in strengthening national unity and social harmony.
The Independence Day celebration concluded with enthusiastic participation by the children and a strong spirit of patriotism.
